A minute later Tottenham threatened the Leicester goal again, this time Neville found herself one-on-one with Lambourne but the Leicester keeper was quick off her line to deny Neville. Tottenham continued to pile on the pressure and Clemaron intercepted a poor Lambourne pass out and shot from distance but her effort was straight at the keeper. Leicester should have seen themselves down to 10 in the 85th minute when Tierney lashed out at Summanen off the ball but was only given a yellow card for her offence.
Tottenham passed the ball around in the final few minutes of the game as they looked to draw Leicester out. Neville came close in the 87th minute when a good run by the full-back led to a shot on her weaker left foot but fortunately for Leicester, Neville could only direct her shot straight into Lambourne’s hands. Player of the match.
Our final player of the match for the season goes to Ash Neville. Neville caused the Leicester defence and keeper plenty of problems and got Tottenham’s only goal of the match.
